By accessing our website or booking and using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our services.
If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you should not use our website or engage our services.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all clients receiving services from Koum Therapies Ltd unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:

“Client”, “you” or “your” means the individual receiving our services or, where applicable, the person booking or arranging services on their behalf.
“Services” means the occupational therapy and related services provided by Koum Therapies Ltd.
“Professional” or “Therapist” means the suitably qualified occupational therapist or other healthcare professional providing services on behalf of Koum Therapies Ltd.
Services Provided
Koum Therapies Ltd provides home-based occupational therapy services for individuals aged 16 years and over.
Our services may include, but are not limited to:

Meal preparation and cooking activities.

Mobility and transfer assessment and practice.

Clinical observation and assessment of self-care activities.

Advice and recommendations relating to seating and wheelchairs.

Support with accessing and navigating community and local authority services.

Support with social inclusion and participation in meaningful activities.

Faith-based discussions where these are relevant to the client's therapy goals and are requested or agreed by the client.
The specific services provided will depend on the client's individual needs, assessment findings, agreed goals and professional clinical judgement.
Koum Therapies Ltd reserves the right to determine whether the requested service is appropriate and within the scope of our professional practice.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are expected to:

Provide a safe, suitable and respectful working environment for the occupational therapist or other healthcare professional.

Provide accurate, current and complete information relevant to their assessment and therapy.

Inform the therapist of any changes to their health, circumstances, medication, environment or other information that may be relevant to their therapy or safety.

Follow reasonable professional advice and recommendations provided as part of their therapy.

Inform the therapist of any known risks, hazards, infectious illnesses or other circumstances that may affect the safety of the client or professional.

Comply with relevant health and safety requirements and cooperate with reasonable measures put in place to ensure safe delivery of services.
Where a therapist considers that the environment is unsafe or that continuing an appointment may present an unacceptable risk, the therapist may suspend or end the appointment.
Professional Responsibilities
Koum Therapies Ltd and its professionals will:

Provide services in a professional, respectful and competent manner.

Work within the appropriate scope of professional practice.

Comply with relevant professional standards, legislation and regulatory requirements applicable to the services provided.

Maintain appropriate confidentiality in relation to client information.

Keep appropriate clinical records relating to the services provided.

Respect the dignity, privacy, independence and individual needs of each client.
All clinical recommendations will be based on professional assessment, clinical reasoning and the information available to the therapist at the time.
Fees and Payment
Clients are responsible for paying the agreed fee for the services provided.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is required at the time of booking.
The applicable fee will be confirmed to the client before the service is provided.
Additional costs, where applicable, will be discussed and agreed with the client in advance.
Cancellation Policy
Clients may cancel or reschedule an appointment by providing at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled appointment time.

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the appointment will not incur a cancellation charge.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may incur a charge of 50% of the agreed service fee.

Where a client does not attend an appointment without providing notice, the applicable cancellation or non-attendance charge may be applied.
In exceptional circumstances, Koum Therapies Ltd may use its discretion when applying cancellation charges.
Nothing in this cancellation policy affects any statutory rights the client may have under applicable consumer law.
Appointments and Late Arrival
Clients are expected to be available and ready for their appointment at the agreed time.
If a client is more than 15 minutes late, the therapist will use their professional judgement to determine whether there is sufficient time remaining to provide the service safely and appropriately.
Where an appointment cannot reasonably be completed because of a client's late arrival, the appointment may be shortened, rescheduled or treated as a cancellation, subject to the cancellation policy above.
Confidentiality
Koum Therapies Ltd is committed to protecting the confidentiality and privacy of its clients.
Information obtained during the provision of occupational therapy services will be handled confidentially and only disclosed where there is an appropriate lawful basis for doing so.
There may be circumstances where information must or may be shared without the client's consent, for example where required by law, where necessary to protect the client or another person from serious harm, or where disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by applicable professional or legal obligations.
Data Protection and Privacy
Koum Therapies Ltd is committed to protecting clients' personal information and handling it responsibly.
We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Personal and health information will only be collected, stored, used and shared where there is an appropriate lawful basis for doing so.

Scope and Limitations of Services
Occupational therapy services are provided based on the client's individual circumstances, needs and agreed therapy goals.
While we aim to provide a high-quality professional service, we cannot guarantee a particular clinical outcome or result from therapy.
The therapist may recommend referral to another healthcare professional, service or organisation where this is considered appropriate and outside the scope of the services provided by Koum Therapies Ltd.
Health and Safety
The safety of clients, therapists and other individuals present during appointments is a priority.
Clients must inform Koum Therapies Ltd of any relevant health, environmental or safety risks that may affect the delivery of services.
Where necessary, the therapist may stop or postpone an assessment or intervention if they believe that continuing would present an unacceptable risk.
Liability
Koum Therapies Ltd will provide its services with reasonable skill and care.
To the extent permitted by law, Koum Therapies Ltd will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of its services.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Any limitation of liability contained in these Terms and Conditions will apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Changes to the Terms and Conditions
Koum Therapies Ltd reserves the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
Where changes are made, the updated version will be published on our website and, where appropriate, clients may be notified of material changes.
The updated Terms and Conditions will apply from the date stated in the revised version.

Koum Therapies Ltd is committed to providing a professional and high-quality service.
If you have a concern or complaint about the service you have received, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can investigate the matter and respond appropriately.
Complaints will be handled fairly, respectfully and in accordance with our complaints procedure.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms and Conditions will be subject to the applicable jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any statutory rights available to consumers.
